Imagine picking up the local newspaper, lifestyle section in the
Sun-Sentinel, January 30, 2006 front page, looking at a picture of a cancer
patient and going Oh My God this is a friend pictured there. Talk about shock
and coming close to home. Mike Tague is the young man in the picture which was
taken in his room at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach. Mike was
diagnosed with Stage 4 aggressive high-grade lymphoma at 43 years old. Mike
has spent many countless hours helping others by raising funds for the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and other charities through bicycle-racing.
300 bicycle racers start at 8:00 a.m. at Bryant Park in Lake Worth, Florida
for a 25 mile ride for Mike on January 29, 2006. Their ride takes them past
Good Samaritan Hospital on Flagler Drive, where they pedal by Mike who has
been brought down to the Valet Parking area to be greeted by the bicycle
riders. What a wonderful tribute to Mike. Back at Bryant Park there is a
raffle and silent auction going on to benefit Mike. Great barbeque, music,
massages, etc. all to raise funds for Mike to assist him during a difficult
time.
Mike sings and plays guitar at open-mike nights and coffee shops, including
Main-Street Café in Homestead and the Chocolate Moose in Davie. Mike’s sister
Eileen produced Michael’s CD, called Broadway, but “the folk scene is so
difficult to break into” she said and sales have been slow. Mike was
instrumental in my meeting my better-half in September, 2001 on a blind date.
See they do work out after all, the best person in my life for all eternity.
Thank you, Mike.
Update from Bob & Susan: Our dear friend Mike Tague lost his
battle with Stage 4 aggressive high-grade lymphoma at 11:05 a. m. March 21,
2006 from an infection that took hold in his weakest point of recovery from
chemo. He will be dearly missed by many in the music scene as a good guitar
player and singer. His fund raising efforts for the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society has helped many in the past. His tireless efforts will remain forever,
never forgotten by those touched by him.

Hurricane Dennis devastated the Panhandle area of Florida in July
2005. Progress has been slow in cleanup and assistance. Insurance companies
must look carefully to determine damage from Hurricane Dennis and keep claims
separate from Hurricane Ivan last year. The burden of proof is on the owner
if repairs were not completed before Hurricane Dennis came ashore. Everyone
must step up to the plate and assist in this massive undertaking.

Lymphatic cancer that is aggressive has now struck a young woman. Family
and friends show support emotionally and by assisting with the little things
that help. The young woman wishes to remain anonymous, no picture, no name,
just located in Southeast Florida. Cancer never takes a holiday or stops for
anyone. We just never know who will be struck by this disease. Robert
Taylor, founder of American Disaster Resources knows how devastating cancer
can be. Robert's wife, Toby passed away on August 13, 2001 from advanced
stage four uterine cancer.
Everyone must step up to the plate and assist in this massive
undertaking. "TAKING CARE OF OUR OWN FIRST". Through your continued support
and contributions we are able to step up to the plate.
