From Susan...

Just imagine picking up the phone and someone asking “Aunt Susan”? Of course the answer was yes. My nephew, Russell called that afternoon on June 1, 2007 to say that he had a hard time finding my phone number. Russell said that he had some important news for me, “I asked him if I should stand or sit down?” Russell said, “May be you better sit down.” Of course trying to be funny I said, “Who died?” Boy was that the wrong thing to say. Russell said, “Donna died on May 25, 2007 from cancer”. At age 69 my sister Donna was gone, at least to a better place. Donna passed away in comfort, at peace with God, at Hospice of the Palm Beaches.

The memorial was on June 4 for my sister with all six of her children present. Christine, the eldest, Joyce, Darrell, Russell, Billy and James all who now need to move forward. Now again, I need to move forward, I am the last survivor in the family. Mom passed on in 1987, Dad in 2004 and now my sister Donna 2007.

Writing this is a dedication to my whole family.

Susan Bump,
Director American Disaster Resources

Many thanks to Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s support of our non-profit. Every year in the early spring and fall Macy’s Charity Events bring recognition to the need of funds for American Disaster Resources to assist U.S. resident citizens members of the work force that suffer a disaster or tragedy and have no where else to turn. Bloomingdale’s steps up with their Charity Benefit every year in late October also to assist American Disaster Resources. Hats off to both. Thank you for your continued effort.

What would you do if...

...you had a car accident, you were injured while working around the house, your spouse died, you tripped and were seriously injured, you discover you have a medical problem you never knew about, you needed an organ transplant or anything that would create a disaster or tragedy in your life disrupting your ability to work and make a living?  What would you do?  Who could you turn to for financial help to pay your mortgage or rent, utilities and food, your necessities of life?

Are you aware that the United States of America has helped just about every nation on the face of this earth who have suffered a disaster or tragedy with your hard earned tax dollars?  Your kind hearts and generosity have also assisted many people and nations in need.

The time has come that Americans must begin to help Americans 'OUR OWN' through American Disaster Resources - Americans helping Americans.
